Today we are launching the updated VFLEX App.  There are lots of new features so let's dive in!

Firmware Download

VFLEX has been designed from the beginning to be upgradable.  As time goes on, USB-C specs will evolve and new power supplies with special "features" will enter the market.  Our mission is to continue to improve VFLEX and make it the most versatile USB-C device on the market not just for new customers but all of you.  Firmware download enables this.

Due to iOS restrictions, firmware download is only supported in the web versions of VFLEX app.  You can run it on Windows, MacOS or Android (in browser): https://vflexweb.app/tools/firmware

Inventory

It's easy to forget voltage settings.  Nobody wants to read a label twice. It would also be fun to share them with your friends or co-workers to save them the hassle.  The new inventory feature lets you do exactly this.  

Following a simple form, you can add info about your devices so that you can set it and forget it.

Fast Configure

With devices in your inventory, you can set the voltage with two clicks.  There is also a reference to know what adapter cable to use. Pretty easy!

Power Supply Scan

We think that this is the most exciting feature in this release!  Many of you have experienced the mystery of figuring out what voltages your supplies can support.  

These are called Power Delivery Objects (PDO) and they are published by all Power Delivery compliant devices.

We have added a feature to VFLEX to scan these PDOs and report back the capabilities.  You can even save it to your inventory to remember your power supply capabilities.

Compatibility Checks

Bringing this all together, knowing the device parameters and power source capabilities, the VFLEX App can now help you find the right power supply for the job.  Even if you want to charge a 42V eBike!

Expanded LED States

To further demystify why a given power supply isn't working, we've added LED States to help.

Expanded Error states include:

• Unsupported Voltage from Power Supply
• eMarker Cable Error
• Voltage out of Tolerance
