[0:02] Hello everyone, lately I have been trying to get rid of this connector.

[0:07] Recently, I have modded my Sega Genesis to use a USB-C connector instead of this.

[0:13] But the problem is, this connection is everywhere, and you can't just replace it with USB type

[0:19] C in any device you want, so for those situations I have been using these kind of adapters.

[0:26] Some of them has fixed voltages like this one.

[0:29] This will always try to negotiate this specific voltage, so even if you plug a more powerful

[0:35] charger, it will only send these 5 volts.

[0:39] Then we have these other adapters.

[0:41] This here is the most dangerous of all of them.

[0:44] This one will always negotiate the highest voltage possible, but there's no way of knowing

[0:49] which voltage it's outputting.

[0:51] If it's outputting 20 volts and you plug this in a 5 volt device, it will fry it.

[0:57] And finally, we have this other one.

[1:00] This one has a tiny display that lets you know which voltage it's sending to the device,

[1:05] reducing the chances of accident.

[1:07] But again, you have to keep checking the display to make sure it's sending the correct voltage.

[1:13] And if someone accidentally connects this to another power supply, your device is frying.

[1:19] But this here might be the ultimate solution to power anything through USB type C. This is

[1:25] the V-Flex adapter from Warwolf.

[1:27] This here is the starter kit, and the V-Flex is this small piece here.

[1:36] It works by connecting the V-Flex to your smartphone or computer.

[1:40] And after that, you can use Google Chrome or your smartphone app to select a voltage.

[1:46] And then when connected, the V-Flex will always try to negotiate the voltage that you selected.

[1:51] And if you want to change the voltage later, you can just connect it again and reprogram

[1:55] the chip.

[2:02] If for some reason, the power supply cannot deliver the voltage that it requested, it won't

[2:07] turn on at all.

[2:08] This way, it protects your device from receiving a lower voltage or a higher voltage.

[2:17] If the power supply can deliver that specific voltage, the LEDs will turn green, and then

[2:22] you can connect everything normally.

[2:28] If you don't know which voltage is your power supply can output, you can use the scan

[2:32] mode.

[2:36] After enabled, you just have to plug the V-Flex back into the power supply to scan the

[2:40] information.

[2:47] Some power supplies like this one can deliver a variable voltage.

[2:52] This one can deliver anything between 3.3 and 21 volts.

[2:57] For example, 3.3 volts is more than enough to power anything that uses AA batteries.

[3:03] And even triple AA batteries like this one.

[3:06] A 5 volts power supply would have probably damaged this one.

[3:10] In the connectors are interchangeable.

[3:12] In case that the one plugged in doesn't fit, you can always change to another one.

[3:17] And there are plenty of different options here.

[3:19] The plugs with an orange connector has reversed polarity.

[3:23] It's a good idea to store those in a separate box to avoid mixing them up.

[3:28] And be aware that each V-Flex device can be configured with a different voltage.

[3:33] So it's very important that you don't mix this up.

[3:36] In my case, I just added a label.

[3:44] The company also has the SuperSline 71 charger.

[4:00] And their magnetic charging cable also has a nice quality.

[4:15] For my final thoughts, the V-Flex is much safer than the other options.

[4:19] As long as you use labels and don't mix up with the other adapters, you're pretty safe.

[4:23] And the fact that you can reprogram it makes it much more useful than the other adapters.

[4:28] And that's it for today.

[4:30] The links to the V-Flex will be in the description of this video.

[4:33] As always, thanks for watching and I'll see you next time.
