Getting Started

This guide walks you through setting up and programming your VFLEX for the first time.

Requirements

Before you begin, make sure you have:
  • A VFLEX Device
  • A USB-C cable
  • A compatible power supply
  • One of the following:
    • Android phone
    • iOS phone
    • Desktop or laptop running Chrome or Edge

Theory of Operation

VFLEX is a device with embedded non-volatile memory that stores the output voltage settings. Non-volatile means that it will store settings always, even when VFLEX is not powered on.

Using the VFLEX app, data is “written” to VFLEX over USB and then is stored. After this data is saved, VFLEX will communicate with power supplies and attempt to negotiate the configured voltage. It will show a Green LED when successful or Red if there is an error. More information about LED status can be found here.

Data Connection

VFLEX communicates with a Phone or PC via a wired USB data connection. VFLEX is not a wireless device and can not communicate via wireless connection such as WiFi, BLE or Bluetooth.

If you are using iPhone 15 or newer, you are connecting nativly to VFLEX with a USB-C to USB-C cable.

If you are using iPhone 14 or older, then your phone has a Lightning type port. To communicate with VFLEX, you will need an OTG Adapter such as this one.

Most PCs and Android phones natively support USB-C. You may also use a USB-A to USB-C cable or this adapter to connect to the older style USB-A port.

Step 1: Install or Open the VFLEX App

Choose the option that matches your device:

Step 4: Confirm Connection

Once VFLEX is connected:
  • “CONNECTED” will appear in the top-left corner of the app along with a green dot
  • The app will display the currently programmed output voltage
Note: Initial default voltage is 5V

Step 5: Change the Output Voltage

  1. Select Modify
  1. Enter the voltage you want VFLEX to output
  1. Click Save
VFLEX will immediately update to the new voltage setting.

You’re Ready to Go!

Once your voltage is saved:
  • Disconnect VFLEX from your phone or computer
  • Plug VFLEX into a compatible USB-C power supply
When power is applied, VFLEX will output a green LED, indicating it is actively supplying power at the programmed voltage.
VFLEX will retain the last saved voltage even after being unplugged or powered off.
